Registration divisions and limits. Registration is open to boys grades 4-8 and girls grades 4-8. AYRBL is limiting the number of participants to 20 players in each of the team/age group cohorts. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. After 20 participants have registered for a grade, any additional registrants will be assigned to a waiting list. Register ONLY for your child's grade. Registration for an incorrect grade might result in a lost spot.
Due to limited court space and concerns with COVID-19, AYRBL will not offer practices at this time for 2 and 3 graders. We eagerly hope to offer these programs in Winter/Spring 2021.
AYRBL for Grades 4 to 8 is aiming to start the week of November 16. It will consist of two one-hour practices each week for each grade, focusing on skills development and scrimmaging within team/age specific cohorts. Each grade will have one cohort for boys and one for girls. There are no travel programs this season.
Because Amesbury schools are closed, we have secured court time at The Sports Barn in Hampton, New Hampshire. The program will run from Monday, November 16 through Friday, February 19. We are currently looking to extend the program to March 10. This facility has four high-quality courts with great ventilation for the basketball activities we will pursue. During the summer and fall, The Sports Barn has hosted youth basketball tournaments for almost a dozen weekends and there have been no reported outbreaks of COVID-19 as a result of these activities. Several Amesbury children have played in these tournaments, and we believe the protocols followed there have contributed to their safe execution.
